Neptune can represent where we can lose our boundaries and sometimes our perspective. We can idealize this area of our life, blurring boundaries, or it can be an area we hold in the most sacred way. Marie Curie came from a very patriotic (Aries)  family (4th house). Her family (4th house) on both sides had lost money and property with involvements in patriotic (Aries) Polish uprisings aimed at restoring Poland’s independence (Aries). She came from a background of teachers; both her parents were teachers. Marie Curie must of held her parents vocations in high regards (Neptune) to the point where she had to overcome  sexual discrimination just to achieve a secondary degree. Marie Sklowdowska (Curie) was also very dedicated to her nationality (4th house). Despite being denied a higher degree because of her gender in her home country of Poland, she had always planned on returning to Krakow University to teach after completing her studies at the University of Paris. It was for this reason she did not accept Pierre Curie’s initial proposal for marriage. It was not until she found out that she would be denied yet again a rightful position at Krakow University because of her gender that she accepted Pierre’s proposal.  Still despite all of these disappointments she never gave up (Neptune)  her Polish identity (4th house) . She taught her children the Polish language and took them to Poland to visit. The first chemical element she discovered (Aries) she named ‘Polonium’ after Poland. (Neptune in Aries in the 4th house)
