Microcosm/Macrocosm
A Microcosm or little world (ie human beings) whose composition and structure corresponds to that of the Macrocosm or great world (the Universe). Â
Malachias Geiger’s beautiful engraving Microcosmus Hypochondriachus (below) is essentially divided into two realms; the above and the below. The connection between the two is shown in the alchemical and astrological symbols within the engraving.
