Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu- an enigmatic Incan structure set high in the Andes Mountains in PERU, above the Urubamba River valley (1438-1472).
Machu Picchu is renowned for its dry-stone walls that fuse huge blocks without the use of mortar, its engineering feats of building drainage into the mountaintop, and intriguing buildings, many of which have astronomical alignments.
The Incans worshipped the Sun, and these beliefs integrated the design of all their key cities with their religious worldview.
As this century progresses, there is a growing awareness that ancient cultures had a level of knowledge and awareness that we do not have NOR do we really understand.
