Hermes Trismegistus
Hermes Trismegistus (literally ‘Hermes the Thrice-Greatest’)
is a syncretic combination (syncretism- the combining of different beliefs, while blending practices of various schools of thought) of the Greek God Hermes and the Egyptian God Thoth.
Through interpretation graeco; (interpretation by means of greek models) the two gods were worshipped as one
when what had been the temple of Thoth in Khemenu
became known as Hermopolis during the Hellenistic period.
